In my very educated opinion, I think we are finally coming into a new era of BBC man lust. Mr. Darcy reigned for a solid 15 years as the dreamiest dreamboat to wear breeches, but I think he's just been overthrown by the surly Mr. Rochester. Watch the new version of Jane Eyre, and see if you don't agree with me that Rochester is a hunka-hunka-brooding-manlitude. All of that scowling and grumping around? Yes! And PLEASE!
(If you need more convincing, you should know that he's Dame Maggie Smith's son. And crazy hot when he's had a haircut and is smiling.)

Toby Stephens' hotness as Mr. Rochester is diminished somewhat by the chomping sound he makes when he goes in to kiss Jane in the second half of the film. It's the weirdest and grossest sound I've ever heard in a kissing scene.
Nobody can top Colin Firth. I haven't seen Rochester smiling or with his hair cut but he is creepy to me. Mr Darcy is too delicious!
oh yeah baby. I'm with you on that one. I watched the first half when it aired on Masterpiece earlier this year and immediately went online to buy the DVD. Turned out to be a good move because my DVR wigged out when the 2nd half aired.
Mr R has so much more personality and intensity than Mr D, though he'll always have a place in my heart...
